Coverage for every stage of life and business
Whether you're buying your own plan, protecting your family, or setting up benefits for a team, the hard part is the same. Every plan looks similar until you read the fine print.
Dobson Health Insurance Group has been reading that fine print for clients since 2008. We're independent, so we compare plans from several carriers and recommend the one that fits your doctors, your prescriptions, and your budget.
Our help costs you nothing
Federal law requires insurers to charge the same premium whether you buy through a broker, directly from the carrier, or on HealthCare.gov. The insurance company pays our commission, and it's already part of the rate.
2027 open enrollment is open now. Enroll by December 15 for individual and family coverage that starts January 1.

Start with the situation that sounds most like yours.
I'm self employed, retired early, or my kid is turning 26
You need your own health plan. Start with individual and family coverage.
Individual and family plansI own a business and want to offer benefits
Group plans and ICHRA both work for small teams. There's no federal requirement under 50 employees.
Small business coveragePeople depend on my income
A new baby, a mortgage, or a spouse who counts on your paycheck all point to life insurance.
Life insuranceMy health plan won't pay for cleanings or glasses
That's normal for adult plans. Dental and vision coverage fills the gap for a small monthly cost.
Dental and visionWhy work with an independent broker?
Going direct doesn't save you money. The broker commission is built into every plan's rate whether you use a broker or not.
What you get with us is someone who reads the fine print. Two plans can look almost identical until one leaves out your specialist or puts your daily medication on the most expensive drug tier. We catch that before you enroll.

Frequently asked questions
Does it cost more to buy health insurance through a broker?
No. You pay the same premium whether you buy through a broker, directly from the insurance company, or on HealthCare.gov. Federal law requires insurers to charge the same rate no matter where the plan is sold. The broker's commission is already built into that rate.
How does a health insurance broker get paid?
The insurance company pays the broker a commission when you enroll, and again each month or year you keep the plan. You are never billed for it.
What is the difference between an agent, a broker, and a Marketplace navigator?
An agent may work for a single insurance company. A broker can represent several companies and compare across them. A navigator is trained by the Marketplace and can walk you through the application, but isn't allowed to recommend a specific plan. A licensed broker can look at your doctors, prescriptions, and budget and tell you which plan fits.
How do I know a health insurance broker is legitimate?
Check your state's department of insurance for an active health license. Every state runs a free lookup. If the broker is helping you with a Marketplace plan, also confirm they appear on the CMS Agent and Broker Registration Completion List for the current year. A broker also needs your permission before enrolling you or changing your plan.
When is open enrollment for health insurance?
For 2027 coverage on HealthCare.gov, open enrollment runs November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027. Enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1. Some state exchanges set their own dates. Dental, vision, life, and small business group plans aren't tied to that window.
